Chinook Community Forest Wildfire Risk Reduction Open House
Chinook along with BC Wildfire Service will be hosting an open house March 23, 2023 from 2:00 - 6:00 pm for engagement and feed back for Wildfire Risk Reduction on the Southside of Francois Lake.
Chinook Wildfire Risk Reduction – Rose Lake Area
Chinook Community Forest will be hosting a community meeting for Wildfire Risk Reduction around the Rose Lake Area, March 2, 2023 2:00 - 6:00 pm at the Rose Lake Hall. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Chinook Community Forest 2022 Open House
Chinook will be hosting its annual open house August 24th, 2022 between 3 pm & 7:00 pm. Please come on down to the parking lot of Burns Lake Native Development Corporation (BLNDC) at 485 Highway 16 West.
Chinooks 2022-23 Site Prep of 2018 Wildfires/Nadina/Verdun/Shovel Lake
Chinook Community Forest will be site prepping roughly 98 hectares of 2018 Wildfire Stands that currently are NSR. Will be planted in the spring of 2023 with a mixture of Class A seedlings. Pine, Spruce, Fir and Larch.

Chinooks 2021-22 Fire Salvage in the 2018 Nadina Wildfire
Chinook continues to push forward with salvage of burnt stands from the 2018 wildfire season. Chinook teamed up with FESBC and a local contractor Shinedown Enterprises Ltd to carry out this project.

Chinooks Forest for Tomorrow 2021-22
Chinook will be treating 51.6/ha on Uncha Mountian, this will be a salvage project to maximize utilization. Chinook will be treating 231.7/ha in the Boden Lake Area, for a total of 283.3/ha over all.
